Lanier Elementary's First Student Safety Patrol

Fifth graders at Lanier Elementary have formed the school's first student safety patrol, receiving their safety patrol belts and badges, and signing pledges to the responsibilities and duties to be on the patrol. School Resource Officer Rhonda Burger organized the patrol, sponsored by AAA who donates all the material, belts and badges at no charge to the school.

The two teams went head to head to see who could get $1,000 worth of groceries first. Tony Crisp and Cookie Crowson took the honor as the fastest shoppers, but the Community Food Connection was the real winner, getting $1,000 worth of non-perishable goods to help those in need.
